What is an Adventure Park? Are there rides? Is it a theme park?
An aerial forest rope course consisting of platforms that have been installed in the trees with ropes and cables connecting them to form "bridges" or "canopy tours". The objective is to move from tree platform to tree platform walking over the different secured bridges to complete the ropes course. There are some small scale zip lines throughout the eight different courses. Each ropes course will have a different degree of difficulty. There are no motorized rides in the park. Our park is all about active participation. While on the courses you are fully secured by your harness at all times, it is all about thrills, chills, but no spills.
What are the hours of operation? The Park is closed for the season and will re-open in May 2010.
Is there a height or age restriction? There is no height restriction for the ropes courses and zip lines. The courses are for ages 8 to adult. However for ages 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13 there are restrictions on specific courses available for their use. The yellow, green, and blue courses have requirements of parent/adult supervision or participation depending on the age bracket and the course being used. For example, 8 and 9 year olds can use the yellow course with supervision but need to be accompanied by an adult on the green courses (1 adult per 2 children). You must be 10 years of age to use the blue courses with adult participation. A chart with participation and supervision requirements is on the ropes coures general rules page. Whenever adult participation is required the 1:2 adult/child ratio must be met. Regarding a weight restriction, the limit is 275 pounds.
Are reservations required?Reservations are not required for individuals and you are not restricted by any time slots. Groups of 15 or more need to make reservations. Tickets are valid for three hours and begin 15 to 30 minutes after purchase. Both of these set us apart from other canopy tours and ropes adventure parks in the region.
Do I have to be really fit to do the course? Most people that lead an active lifestyle and are in good health should not have any difficulty in completing many of the ropes courses. You are able to proceed at a pace that is comfortable to you, and you can exit the course at many locations. You are also welcome to leave the ropes course and take a break. Unlike the yellow and green courses, the black courses are very challenging.
How difficult are the ropes courses? The ropes courses range from beginner to physically challenging.
What are the ticket prices?More information, including our group rates, can be found on the Adventure Park Ticket Pricing page.
What is the time duration of the ticket? All tickets are for three hours. Admission sales close at 3pm. You are welcome at any time to leave the park premises and return back to the park during your ticketed time period.
Is the Adventure Park certified? The park will be inspected and licensed by the Massachusetts Deptartment of Public Safety. It has been designed by Swiss experts and constructed by professionals.
What food services are available? Will there be a bar?Our lodge cafeteria will be open Wednesday thru Sunday and holiday Mondays from 10am-5pm for beverages, snacks, sandwiches, salads and grilled foods. Hours of the Tavern will be 11am-5pm on the same days. Park rules state that you should never be under the influence of alcohol while in the course. Park users may be asked to relinquish their park ticket prior to being served alcohol. Sodas, snacks and ice cream will be available every day thru vending machines.
Are we allowed to bring our own food? The lodge at Catamount Ski Area will be serving food in the cafeteria. You are welcome to bring your own coolers and non-alcoholic beverages. No glass bottles please.
What else is available on premises?Food Services, Retail Shop, Mountain Biking (Saturdays June 20th thru Labor Day weekend), Introduction to Dirt Bike riding instructions (MSF Certified) 1-Day course by appointment, Mountain Bike Skills Park Lessons (schedule to be determined), Hiking is allowed for 2 or more with cell phone coverage.
After the excitement of the Adventure Park, try a few casts with your fishing poles in our private bass pond to round out the day. The pond is stocked with hefty fish for catch and release. Take a photo to round out your vacation album, or just have the fun of catching a "lunker bass" for the bragging rights.
What clothing should I wear?Well fitting clothing that does not allow anything to hang and get tangled in cables and rope. Long hair and jewelry should not be left loose. Sneakers or hiking boots are recommended.
Can the rope courses operate in the rain? The adventure park can actually be a lot of fun when it's raining, however we will need to close for thunderstorms. Call ahead to confirm the operating schedule when rain/thunderstorms are in the forecast.
What equipment is provided?A harness and gloves are provided with your admission ticket. New gloves are also available for purchase.
Are private or group lessons available? All participants will be provided adequate training, so lessons are not required. If desired, arrangements can be made to hire a guide. If interested, please call ahead to make sure that one is available.
Do you offer season passes? Are discounts available to current ski area pass holders?Any special offers will be communicated through our email list, so please be sure to register with our list.

Guide FAQ
- Our courses are intentionally designed for self-discovery making guides unnecessary compared to many other courses that are offered elsewhere throughout the world. While our hope is that both adults and children can explore together, we do have a limited number of guides for hire.
- Guides are familiar with all courses. Since our courses are designed for "self-discovery," Guides are not intended as instructors, nor can they provide any physical assistance with activities or rescue. Rather guides provide some added "Ariel" supervision. For some individuals it is just more fun to climb with another person.
Guides can provide an added level of supervision for children on courses that only require adult supervision from the ground.
Guides can accompany an adult (or group of adults) that would feel more comfortable climbing with someone more familiar with the course.
Guides can provide access to courses that are rated "with adult" for that age category if there are no guardian's in the courses with your child.
What courses can be used with a guide?
Guides can take ages 8-17 on Yellow, Green and Blue courses, based upon pre-existing age rules. However Guides cannot take anyone under 18 on Black or Double Black courses
Guides can be hired to travel with Adults (18 and older) on all courses
What is the cost of a Guide? Guides are available to experience the course with you for $50 per hour. Consistent with guardian rules, no more than 2 guests will be assigned to a guide.
Are reservations needed for a guide? Reservations for guides are recommended if you would like to hire a guide for you or your guests. Guide reservations need to be made 72 hours in advance require pre-payments. Guides can be requested when you are here, but the number of guides available is limited. No reservations are needed to access the course.
