Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Aerial Adventure Park? Are there rides?
In a 10 acre wooded setting near the base of the ski area, the CAAP is an aerial forest challenge park consisting of over 170 platforms installed in the trees and connected by various configurations of cable, wood, rope and zip lines to form bridges. There are 12 separate and distinct courses in the park with varying degrees of difficulty. The CAAP is not a Theme Park but the theme of the CAAP is ALWAYS ATTACHED. Safety comes first and the fun and excitement will come naturally. The CAAP is all about active participation as there are no motorized rides in the park.
The courses are designed from easier to expert and designated as Yellow, Green, Blue, Black and Double Black similar to ski trails. As one progresses through the park, the bridges become less stable under your feet requiring more balance, agility, focus and arm strength. Your time in the park is not a heart pumping activity and you do not have to be a body builder to make it through the courses. Ages 7 to teens to adults to seniors find their comfort zone and seek greater challenges. There is not a correct way of crossing the bridges, however we leave it up to you to figure out the most efficient way of getting from platform to platform.
Other than park rules, the only requirement we have is that your harness is always attached to the safety lines between each platform. At no point on a course should your harness be unattached or removed. At least one caribiner (a high tech clip on your harness lanyard) must be attached to a safety line at all times. Your time here is all about thrills and chills, but no spills.
What are the days and hours of operation?
We are tentatively planning to open on May 10th. Please check back for updates.
2014 Operating Schedule
- Spring Season: May 10 to June 15 - Saturdays, Sundays & Memorial Day
- Summer Season: June 18 to September 1 - Daily
- Fall Season: September 6 to October 26 - Saturdays, Sundays & Columbus Day
During normal operating hours, the park is open from 9:00am to 5:30pm, weather permitting. Ticket sales end at 3pm each day.
This schedule is subject to change due to weather. For groups of 20 or more with reservations, the park can open on weekdays during Spring and Fall seasons.
Is there a height, weight or age restriction?
Participants must weigh less than 265 pounds. We suggest that participants are a minimum of 48" tall for the ropes courses and zip lines and that participants have the ability to utilize the safety equipment and navigate the courses independently. This activity is not recommended for women who are pregnant. The courses are for ages 7 to adult. However for ages 7-9, 10-11, and 12-13 there are restrictions on specific courses available for their use. The yellow, green, and blue courses have requirements of parent/adult supervision or participation depending on the age bracket and the course being used. For example, 7, 8 and 9 year olds can use the yellow course with supervision but need to be accompanied by an adult on the green courses (1 adult per 2 children). You must be 10 years of age to use the blue courses with adult participation. A chart with participation and supervision requirements is on the ropes course general rules page. Whenever adult participation is required the 1:2 adult/child ratio must be met.
Can pregnant women participate in the activities at the Catamount Aerial Adventure Park?
This activity is not recommended for women who are pregnant. If they choose to participate, it is recommended that they consult their doctor prior to their visit. If we are unable to properly fit the harness, we cannot allow participation.
Are reservations required?
We do not accept reservations for individuals. Groups of 15 or more need to make advance reservations by phone.
Do I have to be really fit to do the course?
Most people that lead an active lifestyle and are in good health should not have any difficulty in completing many of the ropes courses. You are able to proceed at a pace that is comfortable to you, and you can exit the course at many locations. You are also welcome to leave the ropes course and take a break. Unlike the yellow and green courses, the blue and black courses are very challenging.
How difficult are the ropes courses?
The courses range from easier (yellow) to expert (Double black diamond). Relative to each persons ability, the courses are very manageable but become more physically challenging as you progress to more difficult courses. If you have not been up in the air before you may be unsettled at first about being 10 feet above the ground on a yellow course or 20 feet above the ground at points on a green course. Vey quickly you will begin to have fun with the challenges and the height above the ground will not be your main focus. Your focus becomes being balanced and efficient on each bridge you are crossing. You will be secure and safe in your harness as long as you are Always Attached. Being attached to your safety line is the most important requirement to remember and you are responsible to be Always Attached.
What are the ticket prices?
More information, including our group rates, can be found on the Aerial Adventure Park Ticket Pricing page. Please note, there is no charge for visitors who come to the Park to watch their friends & family participate from the ground.
What is the time duration of the ticket?

If it is sunny near the shore, there could be thunderstorms near the mountains. It is always good to call ahead or visit the website.
What is your inclement weather policy?
Thunder and lightning will cause park delays and/or closure. When/if the storm passes, without the threat of other storms approaching, the park will reopen. No refunds or rainchecks will be given during a park delay. If the park closes due to inclement weather, you will receive a raincheck based on the amount of time left on your ticket.

All participants will be provided adequate training, so lessons are not required. If desired, arrangements can be made to hire a guide. If interested, please call ahead to make sure that one is available.
Do you offer season passes? Are discounts available to current ski area pass holders?
The CAAP does not have season passes. We will be offering books of 5 tickets for a discount. These discounted tickets must be purchased on line or in person and will be held for pick-up in our business office. These tickets only provide a discount and can be used on multiple days by more than one person. We will also be selling a Frequent Adventure Card for $40 per person. This provides a $15 discount per visit for each card holder. Although the Book of 5 and the Frequent Adventure Card is an advanced purchase, they do not provide other benefits or guarantee a reservation for the day you are here. Arriving early is always recommended.

Do you have Corporate or Team Building events?
A day in the Catamount Aerial Adventure Park is about as far out of the office as you can get. Team building at CAAP is a self guided experience that enables participants to shed the traditional notion of working in large groups to enabling smaller groups of 2-5 helping each other to deal with personal challenges. Each individual strives to accomplish mental and physical challenges independently with the encouragement of the other group members. It is an ideal way to challenge oneself, improve concentration, build self confidence, and increase fitness, while building trust working with others. Although at times physically challenging, the different levels allow the park to be used by all. The park is safe and monitored by trained park staff. The Catamount Aerial Adventure Park is an ideal way to improve team skills while enjoying the great outdoors. It is a fun way of creating bonds among participants, making the CAAP a great shared experience and a way to create cohesion among your team.
What is the group cancellation policy?
Your group reservation must be cancelled a minimum of 5 days prior to your scheduled visit in order to receive a refund on your group. We would appreciate as much notice as possible when cancelling groups.
- Our courses are intentionally designed for self-discovery making guides unnecessary compared to many other courses that are offered elsewhere throughout the world. While our hope is that both adults and children can explore together, we do have a limited number of guides for hire.
- Guides are familiar with all courses. Since our courses are designed for "self-discovery," Guides are not intended as instructors, nor can they provide any physical assistance with activities or rescue. Rather guides provide some added "Ariel" supervision. For some individuals it is just more fun to climb with another person.
- Guides can provide an added level of supervision for children on courses that only require adult supervision from the ground.
- Guides can accompany an adult (or group of adults) that would feel more comfortable climbing with someone more familiar with the course.
- Guides can provide access to courses that are rated "with adult" for that age category if there are no guardian's in the courses with your child.
What courses can be used with a guide?
Guides can take ages 7-17 on Yellow, Green and Blue courses, based upon pre-existing age rules. However Guides cannot take anyone under 18 on Black or Double Black courses. Guides can be hired to travel with Adults (18 and older) on all courses.
What is the cost of a Guide?
Guides are available to experience the course with you for $50 per hour. Consistent with guardian rules, no more than 2 guests will be assigned to a guide.
Are reservations needed for a guide?
Reservations for guides are recommended if you would like to hire a guide for you or your guests. Guide reservations need to be made 72 hours in advance require pre-payments. Guides can be requested when you are here, but the number of guides available is limited. No reservations are needed to access the course.
